Aroor, Kerala

 Aroor is a town at the northern end of Alappuzha district and at the southern end of the Kochi bypass in the state of Kerala, India. It is a fish-rich, modern area in the south of Kochi. Aroor is two-way access to the city of Kochi. The name "Aroor" is derived from the expression "Arayarude Our", which refers to the place of the Hindu fishing group. Notably, the Vaalarayar or Vaala subclass got the name from their unique fishing gear, the "mythical snake tail" Vaal in Malayalam Net, which they used for their legitimate fishing. Later, the name was abbreviated as "Arayaroor" to become the present name. Aroor gives a history of the former states of Travancore and Cochin.
