Peermade, Kerala
Peermade, also spelled Peerumedu, is a hill station in the province of Kerala, India. The backdrop of Peermade consists of amazing waterfalls, open meadows, and pine forests. The place is located in Malanad province and is at an altitude of 910 meters above sea level (3,000 feet). Peermade used to be the medium-term retreat of the maharajas of Travancore. Once very inaccessible and secured by dense forests, these areas were owned by certain clans like the 'Malappandarams' and the 'Malayarans'.
