Maradu, Kerala

 Maradu is a region in the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. It is located about 7 km (4.3 miles) from the city center. It was formed as Grama Panchayath in May 1953 and was elevated to the level of a district in November 2010. The NH 85, NH 966 B, and NH 66 national highways pass through Maradu and have played a crucial role in improving the area. Maradu is also very much served by pipelines.

Another festival is 'Kavadiattam' where people take to the dance floor with kavadi on their heads amidst the last festival day of the Sree Subramanya Swami shrine. During the long period from January to February, the festival of Lord Siva is celebrated at Ayani Siva Kshethra and Pandavathu Siva Kshethra temples and celebrated at Nettoor Juma Masjid mosque.
