Thodupuzha, Kerala

 Thodupuzha is the largest city and municipality in the Idukki district in the Indian state of Kerala, covering an area of 35.43 km. Thodupuzha is located 57 km 35 mi from Kottayam and 62 km 39 mi southeast of Kochi. Thodupuzha is also called the "Hollywood of Kerala" as the place shoots a large number of Malayalam and Tamil films.

The name 'Thodupuzha' could be derived from two words, 'thodu' meaning a river and 'puzha' meaning a waterway. It is believed that the stream developed into a waterway and the town on the banks of the stream became known as Thodupuzha.
