Sultan Bathery, Kerala
Sultan Bathery is a city and region in the Wayanad region of Kerala, India, near the border with the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. It is the largest town in the Wayanad region and the seat of Sultan Bathery taluq. It is a quiet and tranquil town. The place got its new name after the Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan attacked the area and used the Jain temple located here as a battery.
