Kozhenchery, Kerala
Kozhencherry is a town in the Pathankotitta district in the south Indian state of Kerala in the Central Travancore region of south-central Kerala. According to the 2011 census, there were 3,393 households with a population of 12,021. This is one of the main towns of the Pathhenthitta district. It is located on the banks of the river Pampa. It is a commercial center and many banks and companies have their branches here. It is believed that once the Cawls of the Thekonor Empire ruled this area.
Kozhencherry was once part of the former Travancore Empire. However, Kozhencherry itself is not an urban town, but the headquarters of the Pathanamthitta district, and the municipality lies in the Kozhencherry Taluk.
