Kanjirappally, Kerala

Kanjirappally is a taluk and a town in the Kottayam region, located about 38 km (24 miles) from the regional capital, in the Indian state of Kerala. The Christians of Kanjirapally are known for being the first agricultural community in Kerala to switch to livestock farming in the early twentieth century. The place is therefore home to numerous incredible Syrian Christian groups in Kerala who owe their wealth to ranch horticulture, especially rubber. Kanjirapally has earned an exceptional place in the hearts of Keralites through numerous Malayalam films depicting the district as a pocket of Christian wealth.
