 Lakkidi is the entrance to Wayanad as it lies at the top of the serpentine Thamarassery Ghat Pass.

 From Adiam to Lakkidi, it is nine meanders through the mountains and a journey through the serpentine Ghat Pass. The elevation above sea level is 2296 feet and the main town nearby is Vythiri, which is five kilometers away.
