Muvattupuzha, Kerala
Muvattupuzha is a town and municipality in the Ernakulam district of Kerala in India. The town is also known as the starting point of the Muvattupuzha Waterway, which is formed by the confluence of three rivers - namely the Thodupuzhayar Thodupuzha Stream, the Kaliyar Kali Stream and the Kothayar Kothamangalam Stream - forming Muvattupuzhayaar.
Muvattupuzha has a rich social custom. Margamkali and hand-to-hand fighting like Parichamuttukali are common among Syrian Christians. They are performed by people independently at the weddings of Syrian Christians. Shadkala Govinda Marar was devised on the banks of the river Muvattupuzha.
