Karunagappally, Kerala
Karunagappally is a municipality in the Kollam district of Kerala, India. It is the largest town in the region outside Kollam. Karungappalli was an agricultural economy until the late nineteenth century, growing mainly coconut, banana, pudding, and rice. The main attraction for tourists is the House Ship Office at Alumkadavu, which is just 3 km from Karunagappally town. The Sree Narayana Trophy pontoon race, an annual watercraft race, is held in Kannety Pallickal River, Karunagappally, during the Onam Festival period. Nowadays, houseboats, safari pontoons, and speed pontoons are managed by Kannetty Vessel Club, which is located 1 km from Karunagappally and ply to various places like Amrithapuri, Azheekkal bank, the port, Ashtamudi Lake via Vattakkayal, Kattilmekkathil Sanctuary, and Chaa Rift.
