Kasaragod, Kerala

 Kasaragod is a town and the central command of the Kasaragod region in the state of Kerala in India. Located in the rich biodiversity of the Western Ghats, the city is known for the Chandragiri and Bekal forts, the Chandragiri River, the memorable Kolathiri Rajas, the native habitats of Ranipuram and Kottancheri Hills, historical and religious sites such as the Madhur Temple and the Ananthapura Lake Temple, and the Malik Deenar Mosque.

Kasaragod is home to the Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, originally established in 1916 as the Coconut Research Station. It is part of India's National Agricultural Research System and is under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
